What Would You Pay for a ‘Water Blocked’ iPhone?
Pop quiz: how many people do you know who have lost a cell phone or mobile phone by getting it wet, dropping it in a toilet or accidently taking it with them for a swim at the beach?
Replacing a mobile phone due to water damage can be very expensive and if you’re on a limited budget, you might have to go as far as taking out personal loans for bad credit to cover the cost. To avoid this happening to people who own mobile phones and other hand held devices in the near future Apple has once again proved their dominance in the technology field by unveiling their HzO technology.
What Is HzO?
HzO is a super thin barrier called nano-scale. Last week Apple showed how this new technology works by fully submerging an iPhone into a tank of water and then taking it out to prove that the device still worked great.
Some companies like Motorola are already using similar technology to great success in their Droid and RAZR phones plus XYBOARD tablets.
Soon To Be Mainstream
When asked what the future held for this technology Apple said that they hope to release it on a large scale starting with the next generation of iPhone that’s expected to be released towards the end of this year.
Besides Apple becoming a major player in waterproofing technology, other companies like Samsung are expected to make their phones and hand held devices waterproof as well too.
How much will these newly improved devices cost? Will the average consumer have to take out a few loans to pay for them? While it’s far more likely that the average consumer will be worrying about debt consolidation rather than increased spending, the interest for this technology is strong. Whatever the price, consumers will more certainly snatch them up in droves because it’s more expensive for a consumer to replace a device that’s been waterlogged rather than buying a waterproof device up front.
Will It Protect Everything On The Inside Too?
Recent reports about Apple’s Hz technology have indicated that the new technology will protect an entire device all the way down to the smallest scale. This means that the internal components of Apples devices like the iPhone, iPod or iPod will be protected just in case they become waterlogged for whatever reason.
Apple has also said that the new water blocking technology won’t affect the aesthetics look of the device or affect its weight at all. This has many technology insiders excited for the first time in years because, Apple is leading the way at protecting the devices that their consumers own so they can be used for years to come.
